These are some of the very many projects I have worked on in my classes at Queens College over the years.

For my film making class our final project was to create our own short film about our lives with our own voice over and footage.

This essay critiques Sex and the City 2 for reinforcing the male gaze and societal expectations of women, particularly in a scene where female characters judge a braless nanny. Drawing on Laura Mulvey’s theory, I argue that traditional media objectifies women, but social media, especially TikTok, allows younger generations to challenge these norms. This essay also highlights the misrepresentation of Black women and the role of Marxist theory in perpetuating sexist portrayals. Ultimately, it asserts that social media empowers women to redefine their representation, shifting from passive subjects to active creators of their own narratives.

Fall 2023

For my Multi-Media class, our final was to create a video using uncopyrighted footage with our own story and voice over. I used a lot of footage from the internet archives.
